This is an excellent entry-level position with opportunity for advancement for a self-starting multi-tasker who loves working with people and food.

We are looking for an uber organized, dependable and efficient Kitchen Specialist to support the needs of our busy recreational cooking school by ensuring the magic happens - both behind the scenes and client-facing. In this role, you will ensure our kitchen is always stocked, organized, clean and working to be event ready at all times. Your 25-30 hour work week will include a set, guaranteed schedule of 15 daytime hours per week allocated for prepping for classes and events (thawing/cutting proteins, making cupcakes and frosting, prepping menu add-ons), creating our grocery list and running lite shopping errands, receiving our food service order, and maintaining our clean and organized kitchen. An additional 10-15 flex schedule hours (which will include nights and weekends) are reserved for assisting cooking classes and private events by supporting the Instructor. Growth opportunity available to help onboard, train, and mentor new part-time Assistant staff.

No experience is necessary, but the ideal candidate would be:

A quick learner with a keen eye for the details; serious about taking ownership of job responsibilities
Able to prioritize and time manage effectively to get the job done quickly yet thoroughly
Naturally curious about food with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with a range of basic food preparation tasks and baking techniques
A savvy grocery shopper with working knowledge of a wide variety of food items, able to quickly and efficiently navigate through major grocery/wholesale chains as well as specialty stores
Passionate about spending management and the ability to keep our kitchen costs low and routine
Proficient in Google Sheets
Upbeat with a smile and a willingness to get their hands dirty
Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
Able to pass a background check and have consistent access to a reliable vehicle for use in grocery shopping
Certified in food handling or willing to complete certification to ensure the utmost safe working environment
Open availability in the evenings and on the weekends
